What is changing constant?

In Uncategorized on January 26, 2009 at 5:09 am

Not many things stay the same. They change over time. People evolve. Relationships evolve. Work profile changes. The way we work changes. Technology changes. Medicines change. Culture evolves. In an immigrant nation, cultures melt. Festivals cross borders. Change is always around the corner & is probably the only constant. Religious scripts, yoga gurus, book authors, coaches all make an attempt to teach us how to deal with change.

The effects of change can be magnified particularly during stressful situations. For instance, the current economic downturn may pose a huge burden on job & finances affecting the family relationships consequently. The best way to deal with this will be to be prepared ahead & have alternate plans. For instance, if you are in an industry that is generally stabilizing or going down, evaluate where can you transfer your skills. Also, identify the new and upcoming industries & note the new skills you need to develop. Volunteer your time to develop those new skills and make yourself more marketable. Depending on the degree of new skill required, studying a few courses may also help.

While it may not be possible to avoid change, being prepared can mitigate some of the worst possible outcomes. Change is the only constant. Instead of getting stressed about it, learn to accept it and deal with it.
